MY SECOND AWARDS SHOW –  ATTENDING THE 25TH ANNUAL SCREEN ACTORS GUILD AWARDS

Hey guys! How’s it going? So since my last post, I’ve traveled to Los Angeles to attend non-other than the SAG Awards with my mom! It was my second award show! As I attended the Teen Choice Awards last August with a friend of mine who’s also a singer-songwriter (which was a ton of fun!). My mom and I were originally supposed to come for three days, but, we had a problem on the original departure day and had to end up leaving the next day, which still left us with two days in the fun city! As soon as I heard I was going to attend the 25th ceremony with my mom I also knew I would have to go do some fittings. So I flew to my hometown, Geneva, where I found my insane Dior dress! Little fun fact; it’s almost identical to the one Jennifer Lawrence wore to the Oscars last year! The bag I’m wearing comes from Chanel and my shoes are from Jimmy Choo (as always because they’re just the comfiest)! So, because of the slight problem on our original departure day, we ended up staying an extra day in my hometown before flying to the city of stars. My stay in Geneva was short, but it was still worth it because I found the perfect dress! Nonetheless, we arrived safely the night before the ceremony and I couldn’t have possibly been more thrilled! We quickly made sure our tickets were all good and then we booked hair appointments for the next day. We then ate dinner and slept (I didn’t get much sleep as I was so excited). I woke up the next morning filled with excitement as I’m a big admirer of all of the nominees and I simply couldn’t wait to see who was going to win!

This year was the 25th annual SAG awards which were really cool! There was a beautiful silver carpet that tons of people were on and everyone looked STUNNING!
.
I was personally most looking forward to seeing Lady Gaga. I really wanted Lady Gaga to win for A Star is Born for Female Actor in a Leading Role and Timothée Chalamet for Beautiful Boy for Male Actor in a Supporting Role. I will include all of that and the actual winners below!
.
Once the big day finally arrived we woke up, ordered coffee and my mom made her way to the hair salon where she had her appointment. I waited in my hotel room and started doing my makeup as a hair stylist was going to come shortly to do my hair! I went for a light brown smokey eye with big eyeliner (beautifully done by my mom) and a simple rose lip. I decided to go pretty light as my dress was already intense! As for the hair, I decided to go with a sleek high ponytail. Moments later my mom arrived and we quickly ate lunch. Then I put my golden Dior gown on with my “Do Not Disturb” Chanel Bag before heading to the Shrine Auditorium (where the SAG Awards took place)! My mom went for her favorite colorful (and unique) Fendi dress with a green bag from Hermes and shoes from Jimmy Choo (as you should know by now we all love Jimmy Choo’s haha). Before going out we took a couple of golden Polaroids and we were off!
.
20 minutes of the car later and we arrived at an A-List filled Screen Actors Guild Awards arrival. We showed our entry tickets and slowly walked in. We passed by metal detectors and security and moments later we were on the silver carpet! Fans were on the upper floor and had the view of all the celebs. There was the carpet on the right and there were photo walls for the photographers on the left. As my mom and I made our way into the hall where the ceremony was going to take place I saw Lucy Boynton with Ben Hardy, Joseph Mazzello with Gwilym Lee and Allen Leech! Basically the whole “Bohemian Rhapsody” cast apart from Rami Malek aka Freddie Mercury. Then my mom and I headed inside to go to our table. We saw a sign on the wall before going in near the very fancy entry, the poster read « as part of the commitment to environmental sustainability the SAG Awards is partnering with American Forests to plant 25’000 trees to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the awards. » Which is so cool! But I think they should do it every year, you could donate and then get trees planted with the money. I feel like something like that would help make a bigger change but 25’000 trees are already good nonetheless!
.
Then my mom and I headed to table 78, seats 7 and 8 haha. Everything was beautiful and there were huge chandeliers everywhere. We had a screen in front of us to see more clearly and we waited for everyone to arrive! The screen was showing the silver carpet before the ceremony began and we could see Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper, Margot Robbie,  the whole cast of Crazy Rich Asians, Black Panther, Amy Adams, Emma Stone, Jason Bateman, Emily Blunt and even Glenn Close to Melissa McCarthy and Michael Douglas!
.
Shortly after the ceremony finally began Lily Tomlin introduced the awards for the beginning and then the host of the 25th anniversary of the SAG Awards arrived, Megan Mullally. She made everyone laugh with her crazy humor. The awards started with the outstanding male performance in a comedy series award. Tony Shalhoub won for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel out of two actors nominated for Barry and two other actors nominated for The Kominsky Method. Then came the break and some videos from the sponsors of the event. Then came the award for outstanding performance by a female in a comedy series. I was personally hoping for Jane Fonda to win for Grace and Frankie but Rachel Brosnahan won for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel which is great too! I really can’t wait to watch that show. After that, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel won again, this time for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series. Then we came to another break and the cast of A Star is Born presented a short video of the movie to celebrate their nominations as outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture. Right after that Emily Blunt, from A Quiet Place won for outstanding performance by a female actor in a supporting role. Her speech was unprepared but so raw and funny and I’m so glad that she got to take the award home! She totally deserves it, especially since she didn’t win the best actress in a leading role for Mary Poppins Returns. I honestly would’ve loved to see either of the nominees win all their roles were great (I was still secretly hoping for Emma Stone shh don’t tell anyone haha). Shortly after that came the outstanding performance by an actor in a supporting role award! As I previously said I would’ve loved to see Timothée Chalamet win but Sam Elliott was great as well. I haven’t seen Green Book yet but I love Mahershala Ali from Moonlight!
.
After that came the larger break where I went to the bathroom and bumped into Margot Robbie who had a lovely Chanel dress! I then went back to the table where the camera had just started rolling and they were about to announce the winner for best outstanding performance by a female actor in a television movie or miniseries. Patricia Arquette won for Escape at Dannemora. Then came outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series. I would’ve loved either John Krasinski win for Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan or Jason Bateman for Ozark! Jason did win for Ozark and he made a really sweet speech for his family and his kids. Then came outstanding performance by a female in a drama series and Sandra Oh won! I was so glad! Grey’s Anatomy is the show that made me love tv shows when I was younger and she was one of my favourite characters. She’s an insane actress as well! She did a lovely speech and I’m so glad she won. Then This is Us won for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series!
.
Right after that, another break came around and it was finally time to know the winners for outstanding performance by a female actor and male actor in a leading role! I was hoping for Lady Gaga: A Star is Born and either Rami Malek: Bohemian Rhapsody or Bradley Cooper: A Star is Born. I’m glad Rami won for his insane interpretation of legend Freddie Mercury and I seriously can’t imagine anyone else doing as good as a job as he did. Extremely happy for Glenn Close on her award as well but really disappointed on the other hand as I believe A Star is Born did not get the recognition it needed…
.
Either way, it was now game time for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture! This was the last chance for A Star is Born to get credits for their insane interpretation of the beautiful heartbreaking love-story. But, I couldn’t have been disappointed with any of the wins as all of these movies were straight up INSANE! All of them, truly. So Black Panther won which I actually didn’t expect but they a hundred percent deserved it! One of my favorite Marvel movies ever and the cast is incredible!

Then the awards wrapped up and everyone headed to the after party! Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post about the insanity that happened there!

.
So who did you want to see win? Also, do you watch the SAG Awards?

Lots of LOVE, as always,
.
