Hey guys! How are you all doing? First of all, sorry for the late posts this past week! I’ve been pretty busy and also sick… but… I’m back!!!
.
For today’s post, I really wanted to do something Halloween related as Halloween is almost here! So for a Halloween inspired post, what better to do than a horror movie selection?! As the huge horror movie fanatic that I am, I love to re-watch all my spooky favs during October. As a small bonus, I decided to include some costume ideas as the end of the post (with mine costume included)! When I watch horror movies I usually go for more recent ones although I did, of course, see the old classics (The Shining, The Exorcist...). I decided to include movies from all eras to fit the favs of every single one of you out there. So, without further ado let’s get into today’s post
.
.
.
GET OUT (2017)
I personally haven’t seen ‘Get Out’ yet, but, I’ve heard so many good things about it, so I had to include it in today’s post! I also love the lead Daniel Kaluuya, he played in “Black Mirror” and “Black Panther” (I love both this series and the movie)!
.
.
THE CONJURING (2016)
I personally love the whole “Conjuring” and “Annabelle” series’ but, if you haven’t seen them I would suggest starting with this one! It’s one of my favorites and I’ve just watched it so many times over the years. It’s also one of the first horror movies I loved/watched as a kid! It’s also based off real events which makes it a thousand times spookier…
.
.
THE SHINING (1980)
Although this one is not that scary (in my opinion) I still really like the creepy/crazy vibe there is during the whole movie. It is not scary because of the special effects (since they’re old) but the only thing I find scary is if you put yourself in that situation. I mean, what if I was in the situation with a psychopath?! That’s the scariest part in my opinion. If you haven’t seen please do yourself a favor and go watch it. It is a must watch for any horror movie fan!
.
.
CARRIE (1976)
The original Carrie, what better movie to watch on a Halloween night with friends. Am I right!?
.
.
THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (1974)
Continuing with the oldies, this one is the perfect want if you wanna get the chills!
.
.
PARANORMAL ACTIVITY (2009)
Like for the ‘Conjuring’/‘Annabelle’ series (and most movie sagas to be honest), the first one is the best one. I still love the more recent movies of this series, but this one will always have a special place in my heart. Paranormal Activity isn’t about horror, it’s all about jumpscares! The best kind!!!
.
.
THE EXORCIST (1973)
Can you even call yourself a horror movie fan if you haven’t seen ‘The Exorcist’? Once again if you haven’t yet please go do yourself a favor and watch it. Obviously, the special effects aren’t as good and detailed as nowadays but it’s still so creepy and the whole story is just… chilling.
.
.
SPLIT (2017)
I wouldn’t consider this a horror movie, so if you want something a bit “lighter” this is for you. It’s a story about kidnapping and someone with multiple personalities, it’s definitely scary but it’s not horror. I absolutely adored this movie! A friend showed it to me a few months ago.
.
.
I hope you found at least one movie to watch this month or for Halloween night with your friends! So, I can’t make a post about Halloween without including some of my favourite ideas for costumes this year! Here we go:
.
– Rabbit: I had to include this one on the list as it’s the cliché but still an iconic Mean Girl’s costume! It’s also not that hard to put together.
.
– Stranger Things’ Eleven: Dressing up as Eleven is not as hard as you might think. Find a basic dress, pair it with thigh-high socks and sneakers. Add a baggy jacket (blue if possible) and red lipstick under your nose for the extra bloody Eleven detail!
.
– The Incredibles: You can find Incredibles costumes’ from ranging prices on Amazon and again this costume just doesn’t get old. You can also dress up as Edna Mode with an all-black outfit, round glasses and a short wig (if possible!).
.
– Emoji Person: If you’re looking for a super easy costume just wear a pink long sleeve top and be your own emoji for the night!
.
– Superheroes: From Harley Quinn (two ponytails, hair dye or hair clips and some basic shorts with a top + add a bat if you feel like it), to Spiderman all the way to Venom (dress in black and buy a mask off of Amazon!). Superhero costumes will always be the coolest in my opinion, especially if it’s well done!
.
That’s it, guys! I hope you enjoyed this post. Definitely let me know what your favourite movie from the list is and what are you going to dress as for Halloween (if you’ll dress up). Also, who do you think I will be dressed as? It’s one of the costumes listed!
.
Have a great rest of your day!
.
Lot’s of LOVE, as always,
Tiffany Lea
Have you seen Sinister or Hereditary yet? Those are two more recent horror films that I thought were very good. Also, if you like slashers, Deep Red is great.
I’ve heard of all of them! I’m definitely going to watch Sinister and Hereditary very soon! Thank you for your comment x
