DAISIES, DIAMONDS AND ARIES – APRIL’s MONTHLY FAVORITES

Hey everyone! As most of you almost certainly already know, it has been absolutely ages since I did my last monthly favorites post. To change this long, dry streak of ignoring my best-loved items, I have decided to present you all with a list of my most favored items this month. From foundation to masks, jackets to soundtracks, here is a complete list of eleven things that I used and enjoyed throughout the month of April. To change things up a bit, I included my favorite outfit that I wore this month at the end of the post. Considering I quite literally spent the majority of this month traveling from festivals (link to my Coachella post HERE) to premieres (link to my Avengers Premiere post HERE), most of the things on this post are travel-friendly. Anyways, enjoy!

First up on my list is a lifesaving foundation which I love and adore beyond compare. Believe me when I say that I was terrified of going to a premiere recently as my skin was looking so bad from Coachella, and that the only thing that saved my anxiety and reassured me was nothing other than yes, you guessed it, this foundation. At first, I only chose to invest in this new product as my skin was looking much darker from my dessert adventures, but now, I’ve fallen so deeply in love with it that I plan on purchasing it in my winter color too. Looking back to some of my pictures from said premiere, I can honestly see the difference in my complexion – this foundation makes my skin look flawless! And guess what? It can makes yours look flawless too! The foundation stayed on for the entire night, and I just had to use some mattifying powder to calm it down one or maximum twice. The coverage is fantastically buildable which meant that I could cover certain problem-areas more and avoid caking up clearer-places. Just to be precise, I use the shade 012 and apply it with the Dior brush 11.

Again from the one and only Dior, this overnight mask quite honestly changed my life. Considering it was the most expensive mask I have ever bought, my expectations were enormous… but let me reassure you, these expectations were reached and even exceeded, leaving me over the moon and far from disappointed. Now that I have officially fallen in love with it, I have learnt to use this mask scarcely and now only apply it when my skin feels dry and in need of some glow. I put it on right after washing my face and then wake up the next morning with really soft, tender and pretty looking skin. Again, just to reiterate, it has amazing rehydration factors which leave my skin as fresh as ever!

Moving on, ever since I personalized this jacket on my second day of Coachella, I haven’t stopped wearing it! Because it is so personal and holds so many cherished memories, it simply has to be my favorite jacket of the month! This specific piece is also perfect for the weather both in California and London right now. I often get stopped in the street and get complimented on it – I guess people love originality!

When I first saw this palette, I knew I had to buy it. Tarte has been one of my favorite makeup brands for what feels like forever, so I couldn’t wait to get back to the USA this month to buy it! The palette itself has a beautiful array of colors, ranging from bright pinks to subtle browns and deep blues. It is absolutely perfect for creating evening looks and even more spectacular for adding a touch of romance to your upper-eye lid. So far I have been regularly using the brown shades for everyday natural looks and have just worn a glittery blue shade for an evening out with friends! Let me tell you, so fat, I’m impressed. The pigmentation is fantastic and like I mentioned before, the shades are dreamy!

Moving on, ever since I saw the epic Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy movie, I have been listening to its soundtrack. I loved listening to “The Chain” from Fleetwood Mac while on the road to Palm Springs and “Mr. Blue Sky” and “I want you back” with my friend while getting ready for the festival.

This adoration that I feel is similarly represented in my relationship with the movie, The Greatest Showman. Ever since I saw the movie, I’ve been absolutely obsessed with all of its songs. To my surprise while on the plane to London with my best friend I discovered she was obsessed with it too! So as you can probably guess, we pretty much only listened to that soundtrack for the entire whole trip! From “Come Alive” to “This is Me”, “From Now On”, “Never Enough”, “A Million Dreams”… it’s all just beautifully sung and stunningly composed.

A fun fact that not a lot of people know about me is that I use a hair mask every time I wash my hair, which is two times a week. Whatever the mask, it always helps to make my hair feel a lot softer and look a lot less broken. Other than removing broken ends and strengthening my roots, hair masks also smell really nice! I recently bought this specific mask while I was getting a haircut in Geneva and well, as you might have guessed… I’ve been obsessed with it ever since! My hair went from strong and pretty to shiny and ultra soft! I could even feel the difference while I was washing the product off my hair in the shower! As I mentioned before, I’ve tried out quite a couple of masks over these past years and I can gladly confirm that this one is my favorite!

Not going lie, I was pretty exhausted at the end of each event I’ve been to recently. And taking my makeup off at the end of the day was although tedious, a very enjoyable experience with the help of Beauty360’s makeup remover towelettes! These towels saved my best friend and my life while we were in California and made removing makeup feel like a dream. We bought them at a CVS when we arrived at the Los Angeles airport but opted to not get the sensitive skin ones as we thought that they wouldn’t remove the makeup successfully… anyways, we were completely wrong and both the sensitive and normal skin towelettes served to remove our makeup without a trace! Also, neither made our skin irritated or unhappy! We used them at the end of our first day at Coachella and they successfully removed all our glitter, waterproof mascara etc. with only one wipe! And again, it left my skin feeling soft and absolutely refreshed!

I know this is my 4th Dior products on the list but honestly, the house of Dior is doing so well at the moment in both their beauty and skincare products! (Disclaimer : they aren’t sponsoring this post). While buying the foundation I mentioned earlier in London, I decided to pick up a blush too. Although I’ve never been a huge blush person as I tend to prefer bronzer, this specific product leaves my skin looked alive without looking rosy-pink. Together with the wonderful makeup artist at the store, I was able to find the most perfect nude color creating a very natural complexion for my skin! I just use a tiny bit of this product and taaa daaa, I look sun kissed and ready to go! Summer here I come!

I bought a makeup setting spray from Urban Decay a few years ago but was never really too attached to it. I didn’t use it on a daily basis and never fell in love with it. But, once I arrived at Coachella and had to face the dilemma of how to keep makeup and glitter on my face all day long, my friend presented me with her very own long lasting urban decay makeup spray and like a knight in shining armor, she saved my day. With her advise, I was able to keep my makeup looking photo shoot-ready all day long. One night I even showed up at my hotel past 2am and I kid you not, my makeup still looked presentable! My friend and I literally couldn’t stop laughing about it. We would both therefore recommend this product to anyone as we love it 100%! Fun fact, I also used that spray for the premiere I attended last week, and again, I was so beyond happy with the results.

As I flew to Los Angeles the same day as the premiere, I wondered how I was going to not look sleep deprived and jet lagged… Lucky for me, I had packed this eye mask in my backpack and put it for about 30 minutes prior to our landing. Upon my arrival I therefore looked refreshed, well-rested, and ready to party! My eyes felt really energized and I looked much much much more awake! I’ll definitely be using these again before events.

Before I finish this post, I’d like to include one of my favorite outfits from this month. To make this more interesting, I included an evening look, a daytime outfit and a long-haul plane essentials look:

For the evening look I had to choose the dress I wore to the Avengers: Infinity War premiere. Fun fact: I was originally supposed to wear a totally different outfit but unfortunately there was an issue with my suitcase, meaning that I had to personalize this outfit completely last minute! Anyways I love the dress and it looked super cute with the beautiful bag my mom lent me and the really comfortable Jimmy Choo heels I had received for Christmas.

For the outfit of the day, I had to pick my look from Coachella day 2 because for some reason it’s always the best day of the festival! Last year I met the full cast of Riverdale on day 2 and this year, I again had the best time ever! So this outfit included a top from Urban Outfitters, paired with my favorite belt from Urban Outfitters as well. With that I wore my BDG shorts and Dior sunglasses.

And as I’ve been traveling an absolute ton this month, here’s my go-to travel outfit. Leggings from Victoria’s Secret, Marvel Graphic tee from Hot Topic, white high top Converse and a Saint Laurent Backpack.
