Hey, everyone!
So I don’t know if any of you have realized yet but I just added a new category to my blog called ‘Health’! Amongst other things, this category will focus on how I plan to delve into a healthy lifestyle! In it, I will post everything from my favorite healthy meal recipes to my favorite restaurants and workout tips!
For this first post, I wanted to share with you all one of my favorite meals at the moment! Something fresh and clean yet crunchy and crisp: my very own homemade quinoa salad recipe! Without further ado, here is the recipe for a quantity enough to feed one person:
In order to remake my salad, you must have access to all of these ingredients:
150g of Quinoa
1/2 a Lemon
4 teaspoons of Olive Oil
1/2 a Clove of Garlic
1/2 an Avocado
A small handful of Coriander
1/2 a branch of Celery
A small piece of Ginger
– Salt and Pepper
The cooking process is simple, as long as you do everything in order! So, start by cooking up your quinoa just like you would cook up rice: boil it! Leave it to cook for about 20 minutes and meanwhile, start preparing the rest of the ingredients! Be sure to wash all the fresh stuff beforehand to ensure the salad’s cleanliness! Next up squeeze the 1/2 lemon and pour the juice into a bowl, then use a strainer to make sure there are no seeds in it! Once you have done this, you can start cutting the other ingredients: the garlic, avocado, celery & ginger! As soon as everything is nicely cut into whatever size suits you, combine all those 4 ingredients into the previously used bowl along with the lemon juice! By now, your timer for cooking the quinoa should be going off so take the saucepan off the heat and drain the quinoa. Now let the quinoa sit for a couple of minutes so that it isn’t boiling hot in your salad and then once it’s semi-cold, add it to the bowl with all the vegetables! Then add four tablespoons of olive oil, a couple pieces of coriander and some salt and pepper! Now mix everything together and serve on a plate! And there you go, an easy, quick recipe to fill you up in the healthiest way possible!
With love,
Tiffany Lea
