If you have already read my blog post called ‘Needed a change’ (click HERE if you haven’t), you should know that recently I’ve been in the mood for changing up my life a bit. I don’t know how to explain it but in this past couple of months, I’ve just been incredibly eager to try out new things! Suddenly the idea of change is no longer scary or intimidating, it’s enticing!
So, after having changed my hair, I decided to look into changes I could do regarding my skin! Which is where I came across the pain treatment of Cryotherapy, a method of localized freezing temperatures to deaden irritated nerves and revamp your skin! Sounds kind of scary right? Well, I looked into it and the benefits are insane! They include:
- Decreasing inflammation
- Giving you healthier skin
- Aiding pain relief
- Increasing performance levels
- Reducing fatigue
- Boosting happiness
- Increasing metabolism
- Boosting Collagen (protein)
At first, like I said before, I was pretty much terrified of it. But, once I had read the benefits and found places in Geneva (my hometown) that offer the treatment, I became much more interested. Thinking that it could be fun and that I could do a review of it for you, I said yes! So, I asked my brother to join me in the experimentation of the treatment so that I wouldn’t be alone and booked appointments for the two of us.
When the day of our bookings finally arrived, my brother and I were still slightly scared… But, once we arrived at the salon, we immediately felt at ease. The spa ladies offered us refreshments and sat us down comfortably so that we could fill out a questionnaire to determine whether or not we were in good enough health to do the treatment! Once that was over and we had been confirmed healthy, my brother and I were shown to the changing rooms were we were asked to put on white robes and slippers. After this, the spa workers lead us to the room in which the big machine that does the 3-minute treatment is stored. We then removed our robes and got into the box, with only our arms and head exposed. Once I was inside, the temperature of the machine started to rapidly decrease, lucky for me, the only part of my body that actually felt cold was my legs!
After the treatment was finished, I realized how crazy I had been to have been scared… The therapy wasn’t scary at all!! I expected it to be so much worse but when I came out, I was greeted with an incredible happiness boost! I felt brighter and more alive, more awake and just addicted to smiling! And when I met my brother outside the spa, he said exactly the same thing!
Later on, that day, while I was getting my hair done (for a second time in a month, I know!), I started talking to my hairdresser about the treatment and funnily enough, she informed me that they also had the machine in their salon! So after my hair appointment was over, I got a cryotherapy facial done! Just like a regular facial but slightly colder, it was amazing!!
Overall, I think it was a really fun thing to try and I would definitely recommend it to anyone that is curious! I’ll definitely be doing it again soon!
Let me know in the comment below if you think you would ever have the courage to try something new like this!
Sending love,
Tiffany Lea

I’m glad everything went well and that in the end you liked the experience! I’ve never heard of it (I know, where do I live?) but you totally convinced me to try it. I’m gonna do some research and see if somewhere near my house does this. Thanks for sharing!!
