Throughout the year of 2016, I attended many small conventions that were all held in the French capital, Paris. As you can imagine, these conventions were fantastic, regardless of the fact that I wasn’t an enormous fan of any of the shows that I went to, as it had been a while since I had stopped watching them…
But, as many of you know, I am currently obsessed with The Walking Dead and have been dying to meet the cast for ages! So, when my friend called about a month ago to tell me that they were organizing a convention in Atlanta for the next show called Walker Stalker (“The Walking Dead” organize a lot of conventions, but Walker Stalker is the biggest in the world), I knew I just had to go. Due to the date of the convention being a few days before Halloween (28th to the 30th to be exact). Lucky for me, as The Walking Dead is filmed in Atlanta, and all of the main actors live in Atlanta and were set to attend the convention! The VIP passes were impossible to get as well as the tickets to take photos with the actors. Therefore, I booked my tickets as fast as humanly possible, and a month later, I flew out with my best friend!
Arriving at the convention, my friend and I were stunned as to how gigantic the place was! There were countless stands selling merchandise for the show everywhere and to put it short; everything was colossal…
The only sad thing about popular conventions is the fact that everything is sold out really quickly, meaning that neither my friend nor I got the opportunity to book a photograph or an autograph with Andrew Lincoln who plays Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead. During the time that I was at the convention, I merely managed to get only three autographs, the one of Melissa McBride (who plays Carol), Chandler Riggs (who plays Carl) and Tom Payne (who plays Jesus/ Paul Rovia). I also managed to sneak in a couple selfies here and there too!!! And to be perfectly honest, overall, I do honestly believe that this convention was by far the best one I have ever been to, I’m 1000% coming back next year!
For a Photograph:
If you wish to have your picture taken next to your idol, all you have to do is purchase a photo by paying for a ticket. On this ticket that you will receive upon entry, a group name is marked. Use that group information to figure out your particular time slot and then wait patiently in line at the chosen location for the actors to arrive.
For an Autograph:
At the entrance of the convention, a list of prices to get an actor’s autograph can be found. Attached to that will be the signing schedule of each artist. As each actor at the convention has their very own signing table, all you have to do is choose the star that you want the autograph from and follow the directions and timetables to your allocated slot. Remember also to keep in mind that not all the actors will accept selfies…
