IT’S ALL BEEN LEADING UP TO THIS – AVENGERS: ENDGAME SPOILER REVIEW

Hey guys! How’s it going? For today’s article, I am going to share something really special that I’ve been waiting to post for quite some time now; my ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Spoiler Review! It didn’t take me long to realize that I had to do a SPOILER review (which I never do) because there is so much to talk about for this movie since so many movies (21 to be exact) have been leading up to it! The other reason why I waited this long to post this, was also to make sure most of you had seen it! As I will mention a couple of times in this post, this is a SPOILER review, so if you haven’t seen Endgame yet, make sure to read it after you do. But for those who did, sit down and take a snack cause this is it, my full review! Endgame is so filed and packed with meticulous details from pretty much the whole MCU series that it also works perfectly to re-watch (yes, even multiples times). Endgame really is one of those movies that you definitely don’t want to be spoiled before watching. I’m mentioning that because couples of my friends have been spoiled and it annoys me that some people want to ruin the fun for others. So, please don’t spoil it for yourself and just go and watch it! But either way, let’s head onto the details of the movie, shall we!?
.
Many, many, many spoilers ahead!!!!!
.
First of all, I would like to mention something that surprised me throughout the screening of the film, this was how many actors came back as cameos (From Michael Douglas to Natalie Portman..)! It truly amazes me and these cameos make everything so much better and just tied everything together perfectly. Even though the movie was an astonishing three-hour long film, it truly didn’t feel that long! Sure, the beginning was a little bit slow, but it was so necessary and so emotional (like the whole thing obviously haha, it’s literally called ‘Endgame’)! The movie was pretty much cut into five parts: Thor Killing Thanos, The “5 Years Later” part aka what happens right after the snap, time travel and getting the stones back and finally the final battle with Thanos! Each part was necessary and not in the least bit boring (at least to me)! The movie was emotionally packed from start until the end but it also had a lot of great humor and unexpected twists at all times. I also got major ‘The Walking Dead’ vibes around the second when Scott Lang (Ant-Man played by Paul Rudd) was brought back and was walking up the empty dead streets, which I enjoyed a lot! I mentioned that the film didn’t feel long but it definitely was packed with emotions and countless storylines from the beginning until the end, which could have easily been done in two movies (since there is so much happening).

Also, what a surprise it was seeing Joe Russo in his own movie! I saw him passing by my seat a couple minutes before the film started at the premiere and I was like, wait a minute hahaha. The second act, when we finally discover what happened after Thanos’ snap, was heartbreaking, to say the least. Paul Rudd’s performance when he isn’t sure who his own daughter is was tear-jerking and so heartbreaking, as well as seeing everyone post the trauma of Infinity War. Whilst the movie was heavy they added a lot of humor to lighten it up and some things were unexpected for sure! One of the biggest twists was probably bear Thor haha, I absolutely loved it. It completely showed the comic side of the film which was also really good. Chris Hemsworth is such a good comedy actor! I also enjoy the new evolution of the Hulk and Bruce Banner and truly hope they keep him that way for next upcoming movies!

They pretty much went all in for Time Travel and I honestly had so much fun watching it. It was filled with references from other movies and packed with ones from previous films in the MCU. It was honestly a spectacle to watch! All the scenes where they went back in time were so enjoyable as well as when Captain America (Chris Evans) and Nebula (Karen Gillan, she was amazing throughout the whole movie) fight against themselves. It was so amazingly done! The special effects and makeup were amazing especially the ones to make some actors appear much younger! I am glad that they did keep it a bit different from other movies that have been made about time travel and made it with their own twist of it. I also love that Tony Stark got to talk to his dad when they were around the same age! I was just in awe thinking that I have never seen scenes like that! This was honestly one of my favorite scenes! Everything about this scene was so pure and touching. I loved it.

If you felt like ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ represented enough female power, you are absolutely going to adore ‘Endgame’! From epic scenes during the final battle to literally Black Widow sacrificing herself for everyone to come back! Starting with Black Widow, I haven’t seen such a powerful female superhero scene that gave me chills and tears in such a long time. Although I’ll admit I would rather have seen Hawkeye instead it was the right thing to do from Natasha… I would have also loved to see a funeral scene for her since she plays such a big role in the MCU and is in the core 6 original Avengers. But, I once again understand why they did it the way they had since the movie already had SO much in it… Captain Marvel also brought us home with her performance, that was one of the strongest (if not the strongest), Avengers, I again got chills in certain scenes because it was just so good!

It was also so nice to see the genius behind it all, Stan Lee again in one of his iconic cameos! The only one left is in the upcoming ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ movie, confirmed by Kevin Feige (the president of Marvel Studios)!

Now let’s talk about the final battle, shall we!? Oh my, it looked like something you would see in a new comic with pretty much every superhero you could think of! It was absolutely insane! One of my favorite parts of this last fight was when Captain America was using Mjolnir (Thor’s hammer) for sure, I knew he could do it!

Finally, I honestly was not surprised that Iron Man got killed but it was more than heartbreaking. Iron Man was so important to all the Avengers’ movies and his death was so emotional. But, it was so touching that he risked losing his daughter and his really good life to save everyone else! He deserved all the happiness for his sacrifices and that’s why it was really so emotional. I was literally just bawling at the premiere the whole time haha.

I would just like to say that I’m not so sure how I felt about Captain America giving the Shield to Sam. It was a very emotional scene when we understood that Captain America got the life he deserves. I was crying in this scene because he finally took something for him. But, I don’t know if giving it to Sam was the best way to end that scene. But it didn’t bother me too much at all!

Overall, I would definitely say this is one of the most iconic movies with countless iconic scenes! I loved this film so much! Obviously, there were a couple things I wasn’t too sure about (like with every movie), such as (like I mentioned before) that I would have loved to see Black Widow have a funeral scene!

The best part of the movie for me was the abundance of characters and the fact that they all get their moment. I would’ve personally loved to see more Spider-Man but I overall loved the inclusion of every character.

Finally, I would just like to say that this movie feels like you’re reading a huge comic. This movie is so cool because it still works if you haven’t seen any of the other movies, obviously you will just understand more details with watching the other ones, etc. Last but not least, I want to say that this movie really impacted me a lot as I am a huge fan of the Avengers and Marvel Studios I was so emotional during the film because I knew this was the last one (at least with all these characters like this). I can honestly say that I would give this movie a 10/10. It is still crazy to me that this movie was the conclusion to 21 movies!!! It’s so cool to have seen all the movies and to understand all the references. I can’t wait to watch it again a thousand times!!

That’s it for today’s post. I hope you liked ‘Endgame’ just as much as I did! If you haven’t watched it yet (and you have just read this post with so many spoilers) then PLEASE go and watch it right now!! If you have watched it then re-watch it a thousand times like me!
