MY 12 ULTIMATE FAVOURITE RED CARPET DRESSES

Hey guys! How is it all going? I feel like it’s been a little while since my last fashion post, so, I thought this would be perfect for today! I’ve been posting about red carpet fashion for a while now, yet I haven’t done a post to show my all-time favourites. I wasn’t originally looking for only dresses (as pants look insane too let’s admit it) but, the dresses ended up being my favourites! In today’s post, I decided to include 12 red carpet looks that have stood out in the last couple of years. From the Grammy’s to Tiff’s festival you’ll see a bit of everything in here. I think I shared enough so let’s get into the dresses!

RIHANNA AT THE GRAMMYS 2013 – WEARING AZZEDINE ALAIA

I remember seeing this dress when I was 12 and I fell in love with it! Rihanna looks insane and I have nothing else to say. This red crisscross dress is the definition of perfect. Alaïa truly was a genius.

BLAKE LIVELY AT THE MET GALA – WEARING GUCCI
Each time I see Blake Lively rocking a dress on the red carpet I’m in awe. It truly gets better every time! But I had to choose my ultimate favourite and I’m pretty sure this is the one. She wore more extravagant dresses but sometimes simplicity is the right thing! This sparkly gold dress is so stunning and works so well with her hair and lipstick!

RIHANNA AT THE CANNES FESTIVAL 2017 –  WEARING DIOR (& Andy Wolf sunglasses)
Same with Rihanna, she has worn so many beautiful, literal art pieces to the carpet but in my opinion, this is the one. She looks insane. I love this look because although she is wearing a red carpet gown she still looks effortless and cool with the sunglasses and the coat.

HALLE BERRY AT THE EMMY AWARDS 2000 – WEARING ELIE SAAB
This dress is so elegant. I love the transparency and the layers! Although she wore this in 2000 it would still be something I would love to wear now, almost 20 years later! I think this trend is really making a comeback and the icon Halle Berry started it all!

SARA SAMPAIO AT THE CANNES FESTIVAL 2017 –  WEARING ZUHAIR MURAD
Sara looks like a Disney princess straight out of a movie! Her bold red dress is so gorgeous and has so many embroideries! I also love how she matched it with a darker eye look.

NINA DOBREV AT THE EMMYS 2011 – WEARING DONNA KARAN
Same goes to this gorgeous dress! Although she rocked it in 2011 it wouldn’t shock me at all to see in on a red carpet now. The shape of the dress is stunning and is so flattering to her silhouette! Once again, another bold and beautiful red dress!

HAILEY BALDWIN AT THE CANNES FESTIVAL 2018 – WEARING ROBERTO CAVALLI
When I saw this all-pink look I knew I would have to include it in this post. Once again it is so flattering to her silhouette. I love the transparency and it doesn’t show too much! I also love the fact that her hair and makeup are both matching with the dress! Like Rihanna, Hailey knows how to make a red carpet gown look cool and effortless. In this case, she did so with her awesome pink hair in a messy bun.

TAYLOR SWIFT AT THE GRAMMYS 2015 – WEARING ELIE SAAB
Taylor Swift always had very colourful dazzling looks! I truly love them! She rocked this gorgeous turquoise gown that’s shorter in the front with purple shoes! I love that she doesn’t shy away from the bold colours!

TAYLOR SWIFT AT THE GRAMMYS 2016 – WEARING VERSACE
Although I really like the look she wore the year before, this one has to be my favourite.  A long open pink skirt with an orange tube bra and a bob. This look may be too old (with the hairstyle) for some people but in the contrary, I find it young. I once again love the strong bold colours!

NAOMI WATTS AT THE VENICE FILM FESTIVAL 2018 – WEARING VALENTINO
This is such a gorgeous and fresh dress for the summer. I love the small layers of pink and the shade matches her skin tone and hair so well! Love this look! Sheps pretty in pink!!!

BELLA HADID AT THE CANNES FESTIVAL 2016 – WEARING ALEXANDRE VAUTHIER
Going into more extravagant dresses… red will probably always be my go-to color as it’s just so eye catching and so gorgeous! I love how this dress was paired with simple black shoes, the classic messy bun, and a beautiful diamond bracelet and earring. This dress is showing a lot of skin but I think Bella manages to still make it look classy!

LUPITA NYONG’O AT THE OSCARS 2014 – WEARING PRADA
I’ve seen the clip of Lupita winning her Oscar at least a thousand times. I’ve fallen in love with her dress over and over and when I knew I was going to make this post, I knew this one would have to be a part of it. Although the neckline goes quite deep this dress is still so beautiful, classy and simple. I love the silver details at the end of the gown. This is truly a Cinderella dress for a dreamy night that she, I believe, will never forget!

LADY GAGA AT THE TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (TIFF) 2018 – WEARING ARMANI PRIVE
Timeless and iconic. I can say that about a few Gaga looks but the ‘A Star is Born’ star truly nailed the red carpet with this one. Incredibly gothic but so classy and so Gaga! I absolutely love it. It wasn’t too much like some of her more crazier looks (like the meat dress), but, it was just enough!

ANGELA SARAFYAN AT THE EMMYS 2018 – WEARING CHRISTIAN SIRIANO
This dress is one of (if not) my favourite of this whole post. Angela was shining! She looked gorgeous and this dress is flawless and so incredibly beautiful! I love how it is black but the crystals in it make it shine and look light!

That is it! There were SO many other looks I would have loved to include but I didn’t want to make this post too long. I will probably do a more “vintage” version with looks from the 90’s, let me know if you would be interested in reading that.

As you can tell I kind of have a thing for red carpet dresses! I just find that they are the most classy and beautiful!

Also let me know which look was your favourite, for me it will have to be Rihanna’s red dress at the Grammy’s or Nina Dobrev. But I also loved Hailey’s off the shoulder black dress and honestly all the other ones! It’s just so hard to choose!
