.
Hey everyone! So considering I’ve been staying in London recently and the weather has been well, England-like, I’ve had a lot of free time on my hands. And what better way to spend said time than throwing myself back into my childhood and watching some old movies? Moreover, just watching 90s movies in general? Lots of romcoms, classics, and adventure films? You know, the works! Sounds like a great time to me…
.
Even though not all the movies have great special effects, they are still the best. Enjoy these iconic films with some friends, with your family or on a date night for some great throwbacks or some new discoveries! My list ranges from different genres to different styles so everyone can enjoy them! Without further ado, here is my list of sixteen 90s movies you must see at least once!
.
– Clueless
I personally love this film, I’ve seen it a hundred times and trust me, it never fails to put a smile on my face. Based on Jane Austen’s Emma, this high school comedy is about a rich, popular girl who is fashion-obsessed.
.

.
– Titanic
Next up on my list is honestly a masterpiece, literally a work of art representing love amongst absolute tragedy. If you haven’t seen this yet, grab a box of tissues and sob away as you swoon over Winslet and DiCaprio’s love story.
.

.
– Jurassic Park
If you know me then you know I’m obsessed with anything and everything related to science-fiction and Steven Spielberg. So in other words, Jurassic Park was practically made for me. I’ve watched every single one of the movies and will continue to do so forever. Honestly, they are all classics that will never go out of style.
.

.
– Toy Story
Moving on is one of my all-time favorite Disney movies. Although the second and third films are great too, they can barely compare to the first one. A film that shaped my childhood, this is definitely one to make my must-see list.
.

.
– Home Alone
If you’ve never seen this film before then you have definitely been depriving yourself of laughter for far too long. A brilliant comedy about a family which leaves one of their children behind on holiday. Hilarious, unique and fantastic for a family movie night.
.

.
– 10 Things I hate about you
Although this movie is barely a 90s film as it came out in March 1999, it is still one of my absolute favorites. Starting Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger, this is a gorgeous and sweet love story about two completely different high schoolers that well, fall in love.
.

.
– Scream
Onto another franchise that I love, these movies are amazing and as far as their genre goes, there’s just enough mystery and comedy in them for them not to be horror. Either way, they are still kind of spooky – but amazing.
.

.
– Pretty Woman
This 1990 romcom is everything you want in a movie. It’s a heartwarming “modern” Cinderella story and is honestly phenomenal. Unique, brilliant and amazing, young Julia Roberts never fails to stun. Enjoy this movie with some girls and trust me, you will have fun!
.

.
– The Blair witch project
Even though I’ve only seen this film once, it’s still a must see. It’s not your typical horror movie but still freaks you out. It’s not your typical thriller either but it’s super intense and intelligently filmed. Let me know what you think!
.

.
– The beauty and the beast
Onto another Disney classic that I simply had to include in this list: the legendary animation that made my childhood expectations of love so beyond compare! Filled with everything I used to love: a stunning soundtrack, beautiful characters, and an exquisite love story… what’s not to adore?
.

.
– Girl, interrupted
Next up is a super intense drama that won Angelina Jolie her Oscar. Starring psychopaths and crazy people, Winona Ryder is one of the patients that alike Jolie, performs a stunning representation of what it means to be ill, or not.
.

.
– Romeo+Juliet
Back up here with another DiCaprio film, this one is actually a classic. He stars alongside Claire Danes and gives life to the famous Shakespearean play. Known as one of the best modern adaptations of the story, this movie is definitely one to watch.
.

.
– Nothing Hill
Speaking of romance, next up is a sparkling story with a touch of English charm. It’s the perfect goto romantic comedy for a Sunday night and I’ll be honest when I say Hugh Grant does it right. The second Julia Roberts movie on this list, it’s one to watch!
.

.
-Pulp Fiction
If you haven’t seen this film then you should honestly just stop reading my post here and go watch it. Creating the building blocks of interaction and tense stares, this film is truly a classic. Enjoy it with some intellectuals and study the gold watch monologue, enjoy!
.

.
– The parent trap
I truly can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this movie with my siblings as I have honestly lost count. This drama/comedy starring young Lindsay Lohan and Annie and Hallie Parker is a must watch. The whole cast is great, the story is great, the scenes are great! It’s just overall a fresh and fun representation of a family life.
.

.
– Free Willy
Last but not least is my actual favorite childhood movie. Released in 1994, this stunning story about an orphan that develops a relationship with an orca whale is a must-see for everyone. I cry every time I watch it and I hope you do too because it’s that kind of love story.
.

.
.
And there you go, there’s my list of 16 must-watch 90s movies! I hope you counted all the ones that you haven’t seen yet and I hope you watch them soon! Let me know what you think of my list in the comments down below and tell me, which movie did I forget and which ones your fav?

Lots of love,
