If you have never heard of the series called ‘Riverdale’ and think you might want to eventually watch it one day, don’t read this post. If you are a huge ‘Riverdale’ fan and haven’t watched the season finale yet then again, don’t read this post. Finally, if you think you can handle the spoilers, whether you’ve heard of the series or not, watched a couple episodes or not, READ ON!

For those of you that don’t know much about the TV show itself, let me give you some brief background information! The show is called ‘Riverdale’ and is an American drama series which currently has 13 episodes. The 13th episode is the one I will be talking about today. Released a mere week after the 12th episode, “The Sweet Hereafter” was much anticipated.

Ever since the series first came out in January, I have been pretty much obsessed. Falling knee deep into the characters lives, watching all of the actor’s interviews, even dreaming about the characters!!

Anyways, back to the finale, everyone is obsessed. All the fans from all over the world have been going crazy!! From Fred’s attack at Pop’s at the end of the episode to Archie and Veronica getting closer, so much was revealed in the episode! Also, I mean, how could I forget to mention Jughead moving to another school or Betty finding out about her long lost brother?? Again, the episode answered so many questions yet also raised so many new ones!

Overall, my reaction to the 46 minutes of screen time was practically jaw-dropping. From scene to scene I became more and more enticed and eager to watch the next season! “The Sweet Hereafter” was a fantastic finale and was beautifully directed and filmed. Especially the ending, I mean that was priceless. Who would have guessed that was how the show was going to end? It really gave the viewers a clear view of how messed up the situation was and how much obvious conflict is coming!

Alike many others in the world, I am so eager and excited to see what season 2 has to offer! Like I said before, there are hundreds of unanswered question roaming through my head. Like will Fred survive? Where is Cheryl going to live? Is Jughead coming back to his old school? Will FP stay in prison? Is Hiram still coming back soon? And finally, most importantly, why did Clifford kill his own son?

Apart from these questions and how much I loved the intensity of the episode, there are a couple of things I didn’t enjoy about “The Sweet Hereafter”. One of which being the fact that we barely saw Cheryl in the episode: considering her father just commit suicide, I really wanted to see how she was trying to remake her life and I also wanted to know what was going through her head!!! Also, I think that Polly should have been featured much more in the episode as she, like Cheryl, just discovered the intense news that the father of her twins is her 3rd cousin!! Again, how is she feeling, what’s going through her head?
Do you see my problem here? There are so many unanswered questions!!

Looking back at it now, although it made me super frustrated as there was so much I wasn’t told that I wanted to know, the episode was amazing. A rollercoaster of emotions would be an understatement to my reaction of the episode as one minute I was flabbergasted when Fred was shot and the next, I was super excited as Hiram finally came home!!!

I hope you enjoyed the episode as much as I did! And if you haven’t seen it yet, go watch it! No review could accurately describe the intensity of the episode, not even mine!

  4. I did not watch Riverdale and didn’t think I was planning to watch it so I read this post through, and now that I have reached the end, I think I’m gonna watch it after all hahaha.

  6. I don’t watch this show, but the episode sounds quite intense and indeed an emotional rollercoaster! I hate when an episode or series ends with so many unanswered questions, much like the Gilmore Girls, like what’s going to happen with Rory? Will she be a single mom?
