HIROSHIMA&KYOTO

On my last post I told you about how I was getting on a train to Hiroshima… Thinking about that trip now, the main thing I can remember from the city is its hot, hot weather. It was so humid that my father and I literally had to buy ice cream at every street corner to cool us down!!
As mentioned before, we arrived in the centre of Hiroshima at night and went directly to bed! The day after our arrival, we visited the splendid and magnificent Peace Park! As usual, you should know by now that all I ever do is take pictures… So I did exactly that, and it was great!! The pristine park was filled with beautiful trees and had a great big statue in the center of it! After having toured around the park for quite a while, we decided to move onto the A-Bomb Dome, the very much celebrated symbol of the Peace City!
At our arrival, we were immediately met with yet again, more bridges. These bridges were put into place to allow pedestrians to cross over the gorgeous river that flowed through the dome, dividing the city of Hiroshima in two! Again, we took photos of the beautiful river and walked around the area.
We then did a bit of shopping in the center of the city and I got to revisit one of my favorite art forms… crafting! Even though all of you know that I’m a super artsy person, this is a side of me that I have yet to share with you! Back in Geneva, I make a lot of photo albums, collages, and DIYs!
So while in Japan, I took advantage of the fantastic stores and bought loads of cute notebooks, dainty pens, fun stickers etc… At first, I wasn’t too sure that I would find what I was looking for but I sure did, Japan’s craft stores are fantastic, I highly recommend going there if you are a creative, art-loving human like me!
Amongst many other things that we did in Japan, my father and I were also able to visit and dine at some incredible restaurants! Specifically, in this part of Japan, most restaurants serve bento boxes: plates with different compartments containing different meals which usually contain rice, fish or meat!
After our brief trip to Hiroshima, we traveled to the city of Kyoto, where we would spend the next three days! This time, instead of staying in a hotel, we rented a cute Japanese villa that was situated right next to a river! On the second night of our stay in this villa, we decided to have dinner on a nearby terrace by the same river. This was by far the best meal we had eaten in the whole trip but unfortunately, as it was so so so cold, we went home really quickly after our meal! Throughout our stay in Kyoto, we toured around some temples, saw beautiful gardens and shopped a lot.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in these two cities! Although it was tremendously difficult to communicate with the Japanese people who evidently spoke little English, it was still super fun! The Japanese community was very kind and fantastically welcoming to tourists!
Although there is still so much I would like to share with you, I’m going to stop rambling now and let the pictures speak for themselves!
LOVE as always,
Tiffany Lea

    1. Hiii, Whit. I first Airdrop them on my iPhone to keep the best quality possible. Then Facetune (to whiten the background or add details) then VSCO. Then Airdrop them back to my computer. After all of that I edit them to seem like a collage on the post, then I post! Xx
